Biography
Maya Ramesh is Counsel at Solaris Legal and leads the firm's insurance and reinsurance practice. She has advised Indian and international insurers and reinsurers since 2017 on coverage and on multi-jurisdictional disputes.
Her practice is anchored in financial lines — directors and officers, professional indemnity, cyber, and employment practices liability — and extends to property damage and business interruption, all-risk cover including contractors' and erection all risks, product liability and recall, and specialty lines. She advises on policy interpretation and coverage position, and runs litigation and alternative dispute resolution strategy across borders and legal systems.
She read law at Symbiosis Law School, Pune, and spent a semester at the Brunswick School of European Law, Ostfalia University of Applied Sciences, Germany, as a DAAD 'Passage to India' programme scholar. She is a Bharatanatyam dancer and performed her arangetram in 2009.
